Yael Stone, a native of Australia and living in New York City in 2013, portrayed Lorna Mello as a prisoner on Orange Is the New Black. Yael holds a master's qualification from NIDA. Yael was fortunate enough to be able from an early age to have worked with some of Australia's top storytellers and performers along with visionaries within the TV, film and theatre industry. Yael has a successful career with a thriving career in Australia. A continuing collaboration with Australia's much-lauded director Neil Armfield culminated in the internationally-renowned production Diary of a Madman, in which she starred opposite Academy- Emmy- and Tony Award-winning actor Geoffrey Rush. Yael decided to make New York City her home in the wake of the Brooklyn Academy of Music produced the critically-acclaimed production. Yael was co-founder of The Cannery. The Cannery is a Bushwick, Brooklyn studio, The Cannery encourages creativity, creative writing and innovative projects, and supports the growth of writers in their teens.
